Story Behind The Painting

This months painting is a painting I did about sixteen years ago for my daughter, Siobhan. I had quite forgotten about it until she brought it round for some restoration. An iconic and major influencer of fashion, art and music since the 1970’s, it features the one and only Vivienne Westwood in a somewhat cheeky pose. I saw this image on the front cover of Vivienne’s biography, which conveys her career from early punk to designer extraordinaire and knew I had to capture it on canvas. Since, though, I’ve had sixteen years practice, so I may just have to add and redo a few features!
