A vision of British Summertime, this seaside scene is after L. S. Lowry. Lowry is best known for his mill scenes and industrial landscapes but throughout his life the sea held a particular fascination for him, with holidays as a child spent at the Fylde Coast and the North West Coast of Wales.

This beach scene depicts holidaymakers enjoying a sunny day, although the composition still has Lowry’s industrial landscape in the background and hallmarks of matchstick men, women with prams and, of course, a few dogs!
