EXHIBITION NEWS

My first major exhibition of the year coincides with the launch of Cloud Gallery’s new SUPER Gallery – a flagship store in Worthing – and will be held there as part of their grand opening at the end of May. This will be followed with another exhibition in Mayfair this autumn, details of which I will post when dates are confirmed. I’ve also been busy putting the finishing touches to a full size Caravaggio, which has been two years in the painting! It will hang alongside Rembrandt, Van Eyck, Soutine, Modigliani, Picasso, Lowry and other artists dating from the 15th Century through to the 20th Century at Cloud Gallery Worthing.

EXCITING TIMES

I am delighted to have been asked to paint the artworks for a new restaurant in Mayfair, although it is testing me, as two of the artists commissioned are new to my portfolio. I have loved the challenge, however, of replicating the abstract artist De Kooning and the cubist style of Braque. Other paintings commissioned are those by Soutine, whose work lends itself so well to restaurant and hotel décor.

CHARITY EVENT

I have been very privileged to have been asked to decorate a ‘fiver’ for ARTISTIC, a worthy non-profit mentoring group for artists who have challenges to overcome. The charity is staffed by highly qualified volunteers who mentor and support exceedingly talented young artists, some of whom have been diagnosed with Autism. Artistic will be auctioning the ‘fivers’ to raise money to launch Artistic as a CIO Charity. My fiver, replacing The Queen with Picasso’s ‘The Weeping Woman’, will be auctioned off alongside the likes of Damien Hirst’s ‘Shark’ and Sir Peter Blake’s ‘fiver’ at the end of August.
