David Henty Live Painting Demonstration – Sat 20th Oct 1-4pm at CLK Art Gallery Lymm.

This month I am extremely excited to be visiting Manchester and meeting with Chloe and her team for a painting demonstration and talk on Saturday 20th October at CLK Art Gallery in Lymm.

Whilst in Manchester, I shall be walking the streets which used to inspire one of my favourite artists of all time, Laurence Stephen Lowry. Lowry was born in 1887 and raised in the leafy outskirts of the city, taking evening classes as a young man in painting and drawing at the Salford School of Art and Municipal College of Art. Lowry, a life long City fan, regularly attended home matches and painted many scenes of fans on their way to, or at a game.

The Manchester Gallery has over 20 Lowry’s in its collection and on my agenda is a trip over to the Salford Quays to ‘The Lowry’ – home to the world’s largest collection of his painting and drawings. I shall be one very happy painter indeed!
