September Newsletter
This month I’ve been approached by the very prestigious International Arbitration Ball to donate a painting in aid of the charity, Save the Children. This is a major event for senior lawyers and their clients, held at the Old Billingsgate venue in the City of London. I’ll be featured at the event, at which a number of the attendees will be significant art collectors as well as many of leading figures from international law firms from London, Paris, Switzerland and the US, and their clients.
Last time the event was held they raised £400,000 for Save the Children. I have donated Pablo Picasso’s Femme Assise Robe Bleue which realised $45,000,000 at Christie’s Auction House NY in May ’17, Fingers crossed that Picasso’s David Henty’s copy will fetch a five figure sum for this deserving cause.
Good luck to Ania Farren from Vannin Capital (co-chair of the International Arbitration Ball organising committee), Louis Flannery QC (Honorary chair of the IA Ball organising committee) and Duncan Bagshaw (member of the committee) both from Stephenson Harwood. Great to meet you all.
Film News Update
David Henty and Nick Moran enjoyed a great meeting, bouncing ideas off each other for the up and coming film Picasso Before Breakfast, based on David Henty’s life as an art forger. Who knew there were so many stories about the art world underworld waiting to be unleashed!
Nick left being a proud owner of a David Henty Walter Sickert and with many more meetings arranged.
